Service Description
Dogs and cats have two anal sacs, also called anal glands, located on the lower sides of anus. These glands produce an excretion with a scent that identifies them and tells other animals such things as their sex, health, and approximate age. These sacs normally excrete this fluid when the dog has a bowel movement. However, this is not always the case and sometimes they need to be expressed manually. Is your pet scooting and licking at their rear end, do you smell an odour? If you answered yes, then they may need their anal glands manually expressed. This is a quick procedure that can be done in the comfort of their own environment by one of our Nurses.
